Role Overview
We invite applications for the role of Junior Quantity Surveyor (QS) and Billing Engineer based at our Lucknow office. This position focuses on supporting quantity surveying, billing processes, and commercial management for projects. It is an ideal opportunity for fresh graduates or junior professionals in Civil Engineering eager to develop expertise in quantity surveying, billing, and project management in construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret project Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform quantity take-offs and calculations to support project measurement.
- Assist with on-site measurements and verify quantities executed.
- Create and update BOQs and maintain quantity tracking documents.
- Support preparation of Running Account (RA) bills and client billing documentation.
- Monitor quantities executed, billed, and balances.
- Help prepare and cross-check subcontractor and vendor billing submissions.
- Contribute to rate analysis and cost estimation efforts.
- Coordinate measurement data collection with site engineers and track progress.
- Compare planned quantities against executed quantities for project assessment.
- Maintain project-specific billing and quantity reports (MIS).
- Support the QS and Contracts team in handling contract variations, extra items, and related commercial paperwork.
- Keep precise project records using Excel.
- Assist management in analyzing project costs and billing trends.
Preferred Candidate Profile and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Basic familiarity with BOQs and construction quantities.
- Effective documentation skills.
- Eagerness to learn about quantity surveying and construction billing processes.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
Additional Advantages
- Experience or knowledge in construction billing processes.
- Understanding of Running Account (RA) bills.
- Ability to perform quantity take-offs and rate analysis.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Use of Excel formulas for data analysis.
