Junior Quality Assurance Officer

About the Role

Ransom Naturals Ltd is seeking a proactive Junior Quality Assurance Officer to join their expanding Quality Assurance team in Hitchin, England on a fixed-term contract of six months. The company is a GMP-compliant facility specializing in producing botanical extracts critical to pharmaceutical Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and the food and beverage sector.

This position is an exceptional entry point for recent life sciences or food science graduates wishing to gain practical experience in GMP quality systems, botanical extraction manufacturing, and compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will report directly to the QA Manager and collaborate closely with seasoned QA professionals who will provide thorough training on recognized industry quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing batch manufacturing records and quality documentation.
• Support management of GMP documentation control and standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance.
• Contribute to the tracking of deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and change controls.
• Engage in production line clearance and in-process quality evaluations.
• Verify raw material documentation and accompanying Certificates of Analysis.
• Provide assistance during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
• Maintain adherence to cGMP, HACCP, and internal company quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or an analogous life sciences field.
• Prior professional industry experience is not mandatory.
• Internship or laboratory experience is considered advantageous.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational capabilities.
• Keen interest in quality assurance systems and regulatory compliance.
• Capability to operate effectively within a regulated manufacturing setting.
