Junior Private Markets Investment Manager

The Private Markets division collaborates closely with institutional clients to develop investment strategies primarily focused on infrastructure, private equity, private debt, and private equity real estate sectors. For over 20 years, FERI has been active in private market investments through careful selection, thorough due diligence, and active management of private market funds, currently managing around 11 billion euros in assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze private markets funds, especially in private equity, private debt, infrastructure, and private equity real estate, conducting both quantitative and qualitative due diligence and preparing detailed structured investment proposals.
• Support private markets fund investments, portfolio management, as well as market and sector analyses.
• Produce professional analyses and decision documents in both German and English, and participate in presentations to internal and external committees.
• Maintain and ensure the quality of fund and market data.
• Coordinate internally and provide expert support to client advisors, including direct communication with investors and clients as required.
• Assist with global market coverage activities, including travel to meet fund managers and market participants.
• Contribute to strategic consulting for clients on private market investments involving market discussions, allocation, fund selection, and special topics.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Successfully completed a master's degree in economics or a related field. Motivation to pursue CFA or CAIA certifications, with FERI offering professional and financial support.
• Experience: Initial experience in private markets (e.g., roles or internships at asset managers, banks, institutional investors like insurance companies, pension funds, family offices), investment banking, corporate finance, or management consulting.
• Skills: Strong and persuasive communication and presentation abilities, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge: Excellent expertise in financial and company analysis.
• IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office, notably MS Excel.
• Personal Traits: Committed, responsible, reliable, and independent working style coupled with excellent communication skills.
• Languages: Business fluent in German and English.
