Job description
About Berganza
Berganza focuses on rare and genuine antique and vintage jewellery. Based in Hatton Garden, the company holds Europe’s largest selection of antique rings, including pieces from Roman times through the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras. Each item is chosen for its originality, craftsmanship and natural, untreated gemstones.
Known for its expertise and trusted approach, Berganza aims to protect the heritage of every piece while giving customers a standout experience. In this role, you will help showcase these remarkable items through precise photography and careful retouching so that every image reflects the artistry, history and character of the collection.
The Role
Berganza is hiring a Junior Photographer & Retoucher to join its in-house creative team. Working from the Farringdon studio in London, you will help produce high-quality product photography and image retouching for the website, marketing campaigns and social media.
This position suits someone with a strong eye for detail and a genuine interest in luxury product imagery. As part of the creative team, you will create accurate, polished visuals that highlight the distinct beauty and workmanship of antique and vintage jewellery.
This is a full-time, permanent, onsite role. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Create photographs of antique and vintage jewellery for the website and promotional channels.
- Edit and refine product images to a high standard, keeping colour, detail and consistency accurate.
- Prepare, sort and export image files for digital and print use.
- Help with lighting, camera setup and studio preparation for product shoots.
- Keep the image archive well organised and ensure assets are stored correctly.
- Perform quality checks on imagery so it aligns with Berganza’s visual standards.
- Assist the wider creative team with photography-related and studio tasks when needed.
Skills and Experience
A portfolio showing strong retouching work is required. The successful candidate should have at least one year of professional experience in image retouching, along with practical experience using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. You should understand colour correction, masking, cleaning and non-destructive retouching methods, and have some confidence working with professional camera equipment.
The role also calls for excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of quality and accuracy, and the ability to stay organised, take initiative and juggle several projects in a busy studio setting. An interest in luxury goods, jewellery or heritage brands would be an advantage.
Benefits
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- 28 days of holiday under a system where time off does not need prior approval, inclusive of bank holidays.
- Performance-related bonus structure.
- Access to Europe’s largest antique jewellery collection.
- Opportunity to work with one of the UK’s leading antique jewellery specialists.
- Creative, collaborative workplace in London’s jewellery district.
Working Arrangements
This is an onsite role based at the Farringdon studio in London. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
