Job description

About the Role

We are collaborating with a leading global energy company focused on flexibility services and demand-side response (DSR) across the UK and Ireland. They seek a detail-oriented Junior to Mid-Level Operations Analyst to assist with their expanding portfolio. This position bridges market operations, data management, and grid flexibility, ensuring smooth onboarding of assets, accurate market submissions, and precise settlement processes.

This opportunity is well-suited for a driven professional with between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience aiming to advance their career in the dynamic energy transition sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new clients and their assets, managing registrations through industry portals, including handling MPANs and metering data.
  • Oversee the setup procedures for flexibility and demand-side response programmes.
  • Conduct thorough data audits, cleansing, and validation to maintain accuracy in asset performance reporting and portfolio analysis.
  • Carry out daily market operations by submitting price-quantity pairs and physical notifications efficiently.
  • Support financial settlements by resolving discrepancies and managing billing information.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that monitor portfolio performance and uncover operational inefficiencies.
  • Enhance processes by streamlining workflows and optimizing internal data management systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 1 and 3 years of professional experience in energy, utilities, metering, settlements, market operations, portfolio support, or trading operations environments.
  • Proficient with advanced Excel capabilities such as XLOOKUP, PivotTables, data validation, and managing extensive datasets.
  • Familiarity with Power BI is highly desirable, with basic skills in SQL or Python considered advantageous.
  • Strong detail orientation, ability to meet stringent deadlines, and keen interest to develop expertise in energy flexibility and grid balancing.

Package & Terms

  • Salary range between £42,000 and £46,000 per annum.
  • This is a fixed-term contract position lasting 12 months.
  • Work arrangement follows a hybrid model based at a London office.
