Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Microbiologist Specialist to join our team in Ras Al Khaimah. This role involves performing various microbiological tests and supporting laboratory activities within a pharmaceutical setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, committed to quality, and eager to contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting microbiological laboratory testing (MLT) for non-sterile raw materials, packaging materials, and semi-finished products, including meticulous documentation.
- Performing bioburden testing on prefiltration samples and maintaining associated records.
- Executing water testing, managing release processes, and documenting all activities.
- Providing essential support for the microbiology laboratory and managing related documentation.
- Conducting microbiology culture testing, including maintenance, sub-culturing, and growth promotion testing (GPT), with thorough record-keeping.
- Accurately entering test results into the SAP system.
- Monitoring environmental conditions and equipment temperatures using Vaisala/SIRIUS systems.
- Ensuring strict adherence to online compliance and documentation standards for all assigned tasks.
- Participating actively in internal and external audits.
- Maintaining online compliance and documentation for all assigned duties.
- Adhering to safety precautions and good laboratory practices (GLP) in the laboratory environment.
- Upholding data integrity and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Contributing to the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and microbiology qualification/validation documents.
- Reporting any observed deviations, out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-limit (OOL), or excursion events.
- Managing electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) activities using the Amplelogic system.
- Executing daily operations in alignment with Environmental Management System (EMS) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Identifying, minimizing, and preventing environmental impacts and operational risks.
- Engaging in EHS activities, audits, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Functional Knowledge
- Possession of a BSc or Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related biological science field.
- A minimum of 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in using computer software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
