Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Key Account Manager to join our sales team in Germany on a permanent basis, ideally starting as soon as possible. Reporting to the Commercial Director Germany and based in our Hamburg office, you will provide support in various key account responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain proactive, continuous communication with selected customers in Germany to meet agreed corporate goals and key performance indicators (operating income).
  • Process daily customer orders and ensure their timely and accurate entry into the ERP system.
  • Handle customer complaints and returns promptly and professionally, aiming for customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct contract and pricing negotiations with existing and prospective customers, always considering company profitability.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update sales reports and internal sales data (notably Excel spreadsheets) to ensure thorough tracking and insightful reporting.
  • Coordinate logistics by working closely with ports, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to assure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop or adjust solutions to optimally support clients.
  • Perform daily or weekly inventory checks across relevant service providers along the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement an annual visit plan for existing and new customers, documenting all visits transparently within a shared database or file.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in FMCG sales involving tangible products, preferably with ultra-fresh items.
  • Minimum of three years in sales with demonstrable success.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German (at least C1 level) and English.
  • Experienced user of ERP systems and proficient with MS Office tools.
  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts and negotiation techniques.
  • Quick learner with a passion for sales.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven focus.
  • Residency in or near Hamburg, Germany.
