Job description

Overview

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Midrand, Gauteng. The employer is a supply chain and sales & merchandising partner operating a fully integrated, temperature-controlled network across Southern Africa. The business emphasizes service, technology, infrastructure, and a people-first culture, with multi-temperature vehicles that can move frozen, chilled, and ambient goods in a single delivery.

Role Purpose

The position focuses on investigating incidents, gathering and safeguarding physical evidence, and preparing formal written investigation reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out investigations on behalf of the company into incidents involving the organisation or its staff.
  • Investigate offences involving employees and contractors.
  • Present findings and practical recommendations to management after completing investigations.
  • Assess and interpret local intelligence information that has been collected.
  • Perform investigation work assigned by the Risk & Security Manager.
  • Review security policies and procedures and advise management on ways to reduce security exposure.
  • Regularly check whether documented security controls are being followed by employees.
  • Comply with all South African legal requirements relevant to the role.

Reporting and Stakeholders

Internal working relationships include employees and management. Externally, the role interacts with customers.

Qualifications, Experience and Requirements

  • Matric is required.
  • A Risk Management qualification, or active study toward one, is mandatory.
  • PSIRA registration is required.
  • No criminal convictions may be present.
  • Ability to prepare detailed investigation reports with recommendations for security improvements.
  • Strong command of English communication.
  • Substantial experience in investigations is required.
  • Background in policing, including investigations and presenting offenders before the courts.
  • At least 3 years of investigation experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High personal integrity.
