Junior Interior Designer (Corporate Interiors Only)

Role overview

MKDA is looking for a junior-level interior designer to contribute to corporate interior projects of varying scales and complexity. The role involves taking assignments from initial concept through final delivery, with close coordination across project teams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

The position includes space planning, client communication, consultant and vendor coordination, and support for programming, visioning, and site review activities. The designer will also handle multiple active projects within agreed timelines, prepare visual renderings, develop finish selections, and assemble client-facing presentations.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Interior Design is required. Strong technical ability is expected in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering tools, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office. The candidate should understand project documentation and design development, along with interior finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and FF&E schedules and budgets. Experience with millwork detailing, specifications, and review of shop drawings is important, as is familiarity with current building codes, including ADA standards. The role also calls for strong client-facing skills, excellent presentations, clear communication, and the ability to follow direction from senior and intermediate designers. Candidates must already live in the NY Tri-State Area or be willing to move there.
