Job description
Position Overview
Ainley Group is recruiting a Junior Hydraulic Modeller to join their team at the Collingwood or Mississauga office. The role involves creating and maintaining hydraulic models related to water and wastewater systems, serving a range of municipal and private clients. Candidates are expected to have between two to four years of modelling experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute hydraulic modelling analyses for both water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Analyze data to assist in planning studies and assessments.
- Provide support for sewer and water system design tasks.
- Compile comprehensive engineering reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Pursuing Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Ontario or membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Two to four years of relevant experience in hydraulic modelling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experienced using hydraulic modelling software including WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, and PCSWMM.
- Solid understanding of hydraulic engineering principles and familiarity with GIS, especially ESRI ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D considered advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of municipal infrastructure design and construction standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.

Compensation
