Role Overview
As a junior graphic designer, you will contribute creatively to diverse projects including print and digital advertisements, marketing materials, and integrated marketing campaigns. The role involves creating high-quality designs both for Community Journals’ clients and internal marketing initiatives. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will produce functional, beautiful, and intuitive design solutions, ideal for those beginning their career in digital and print media.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process client-approved ads for print and digital platforms
- Follow brand-specific guidelines and language to complete client projects such as print and web ads
- Create in-house promotional materials and office collateral
- Support the execution of marketing programs for Community Journals
- Develop multimedia marketing materials including print ads, web ads, brochures, signage, office materials, banners, and billboards for clients
- Occasionally design speculative advertisements and campaigns to support sales efforts
- Collaborate closely with sales representatives, clients, and leadership to define project scope
- Coordinate with various project teams to meet deadlines
Qualifications and Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating broad graphic design capabilities
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Able to collaborate effectively with teams to bring client visions to fruition
- Comfortable presenting ideas to peers and executive stakeholders
- Skill in establishing and upholding design standards and best practices
- Understanding of web design workflows
- Experience creating online display and animated advertisements
- Knowledge of print production processes
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Motion graphics and video editing skills considered an advantage
- Experience with digital design tools such as Creatopy is a plus
