Job description
Role overview
Opus Agency is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join its Production / Creative group in Sydney. This is a full-time, permanent position with a hybrid working setup and minimal travel expected, only when required.
About the company
Opus Agency, Asia Pacific is a global event agency with a future-focused approach and more than 400 team members across the United States, London, Sydney, Singapore, and New Zealand. The agency partners with major international brands and emerging category leaders to deliver flagship programs and end-to-end event portfolios. Its growth has been built on strong talent, a collaborative culture, and integrated capabilities designed to turn ideas into memorable experiences.
What the role involves
This opportunity is suited to an early-career designer who enjoys turning ideas into finished creative work across print, digital, and live event environments. You will support senior creatives by producing polished assets, helping maintain brand consistency, and contributing to projects that span event collateral, digital campaigns, branded content, and broadcast visuals. The role requires close collaboration with creative, production, and account teams in a busy agency setting.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the creative team in developing concepts, page layouts, illustrations, and design assets for print, digital, event, and broadcast work.
- Create brand-compliant assets that follow briefs, technical specifications, and style guides.
- Help produce storyboards and visual elements for animation or video projects.
- Manage multiple assignments at once and keep work moving to meet deadlines.
- Partner with Producers, Account teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure outputs meet client expectations.
- Prepare files accurately for both print and digital production, checking technical requirements along the way.
- Contribute to design work in Figma, After Effects, and other relevant tools.
- Respond constructively to feedback and use it to improve creative output.
- Take part in brainstorming and contribute ideas to creative challenges.
- Maintain a strong eye for detail while working efficiently.
- Stay informed on trends in design, culture, animation, and technology to help lift creative standards.
Skills and competencies
The role calls for a mix of creative thinking, technical design ability, and strong collaboration skills. Useful competencies include concept development, visual composition, brand guideline compliance, awareness of animation and 3D/environmental design, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and After Effects, plus sound knowledge of print and digital production. Strong organisation, accuracy, receptiveness to feedback, and a positive team-oriented approach are also important.
Candidate profile
This position is aimed at someone at the beginning of their creative career who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn from more experienced designers. A degree in graphic design or a similar field, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Previous experience in a studio or agency setting through internships or work placements is also valued. Applicants should be able to show a portfolio with work across different disciplines and should have a genuine interest in creative trends, animation, and technology.
What you can expect in return
- Access to strong technology and tools to support your work.
- The chance to create for leading global brands.
- Opportunities for travel internationally.
- Paid birthday leave.
- A paid monthly wellness day.
- Regular social activities.
- A hybrid working arrangement.
- A modern and lively workplace.
- A competitive paid parental leave policy.
- Access to an in-house learning and development programme.
- Additional funding for personal learning and professional growth.
