Job description

About the Role

Miniatur Wunderland is looking for a junior graphic designer to join its creative marketing environment in Hamburg. The team works across storytelling, events, journalism outreach, online and offline communication, and a wide range of projects connected to the Wunderland brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Create merchandise designs and visual concepts for branded products.
  • Develop digital and print marketing materials and utility graphics such as illustrations, posters, books, flyers, animations, and online ads.
  • Prepare artwork for print production and handle final artwork files for different printing methods.
  • Take ownership of smaller projects independently from concept through delivery.
  • Accompany press appointments and events, and document them photographically, including the emerging model worlds.
  • Support the upkeep and development of the website, social media channels, and video-related content.
  • Write articles and other copy to assist the team with communication tasks.
  • Help design and shape interior spaces together with the construction teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • A completed degree in communication design or graphic design, or vocational training in media design with a print focus or similar specialization.
  • Practical experience in media design.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, creativity, and enthusiasm for developing new ideas.
  • Confident, routine use of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Good command of camera equipment.
  • Initial experience with CMS tools and frontend website design is an advantage.
  • Interest in and openness toward AI-based applications.
  • Strong English skills in speaking and writing, and German at least at C1 level.
  • Ability to work independently, stay open to new projects, and keep a clear head under pressure.
