Junior Furniture Designer

About the Role

We invite you to join our team as a Junior Furniture Designer at Westwing, based in Munich. In this role, you will play a key part in designing fresh, trend-forward furniture products including sofas, beds, chairs, dining and coffee tables, armchairs, case goods, and outdoor furniture. Collaborating closely with development teams, your focus will be on creating compelling designs that blend color, materials, and finishes to shape the vibrant Westwing Collection. This permanent position offers a fast-paced, international environment prime for growth and skill enhancement in product design.

Key Responsibilities

• Create stylish, on-trend furniture pieces across various sub-categories.
• Support the management of the design workflow while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Buying, Quality, and Product Management.
• Develop concepts related to color, material, and finish (CMF) to aid product development.
• Produce detailed design concepts, sketches, and necessary documentation for products.
• Conduct thorough reviews of samples and prototypes to ensure alignment with design specifications and the Westwing design ethos, highlighting any discrepancies prior to approval.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrates a strong enthusiasm for product design and a drive for excellence in design quality.
• Possesses at least one year of professional experience or relevant internships in product, industrial, furniture, or related design fields.
• Proficient with design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Exhibits keen interest in product development, material innovation, design trends, and possesses a sharp eye for detail, aesthetics, and proportion.
• Understands production processes, materials, and sustainability principles, coupled with the ability to work in a systematic and cooperative manner.
• Has strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and fluency in English.
