Junior FreeCAD Designer (3D Modeling)

Role overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for a Junior FreeCAD Designer focused on 3D modeling work. The role supports AI training initiatives and involves collaborating with the customer’s team to build and improve model assets.

Compensation for this assignment ranges from $20 to $110 per hour. The expected workload is between 10 and 40 hours each week.

Key responsibilities

• Build, update, and polish 3D models in FreeCAD while working alongside the customer team for AI training support.
• Carefully review design briefs and technical requirements, then translate them into accurate model outputs.
• Share practical feedback on whether models are useful, clear, and suitable for AI learning workflows.
• Record the methods and steps used in modeling so the approach can be passed on easily within the project.
• Use written and spoken communication to resolve questions, confirm requirements, and exchange ideas clearly.
• Refine designs repeatedly in response to feedback until they align with project goals and quality expectations.

Requirements

• Prior hands-on experience in 3D modeling and design using FreeCAD.
• Strong precision and an ability to notice even small geometric inconsistencies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas in simple terms.
• Comfort working from technical directions and adjusting quickly as project needs change.
• Basic familiarity with engineering or design fundamentals.
