About the Role
Join the Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies as a Junior Flood Insurance Underwriter. This position can be based in Kalispell or performed remotely anywhere nationwide. You will operate under the guidance of the Underwriting Manager, responsible for reviewing and analyzing insurance quotations and managing an existing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess new insurance applications to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Handle policy endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, billing concerns, and policy issuance.
- Review underwriting documentation such as applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and online third-party data to underwrite accurately.
- Provide support to agents through phone, online chat, and email while achieving specified production metrics.
- Manage challenging customer interactions to reach satisfactory resolutions.
- Engage actively in team activities including daily meetings, collaborative sessions, and training events.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and oral.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of technical systems and procedures with a keen eye for detail.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Experience
- Previous customer service experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of underwriting processes and flood insurance practices, along with familiarity with company policies.
- Effective time management abilities and teamwork skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues and clients.
