BenBau Group is an international construction and real estate business with a presence in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and Ireland. The Berlin headquarters is hiring a Junior Finance & Accounting Specialist (m/f/d) to support the Finance Department. This role is designed for someone who wants to build hands-on experience in accounting and finance inside an international organization.
You will work alongside the finance team on everyday accounting work, help during the rollout of a new ERP system, and provide backup support during holiday periods. The position is a one-year fixed-term contract and includes a six-month probation period.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the finance team with routine accounting and administrative work.
- Handle support tasks across accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process supplier invoices and help prepare payments.
- Keep accounting records and finance files accurate and up to date.
- Support bank reconciliations and ledger matching activities.
- Enter project cost data and assist with financial tracking.
- Help with VAT reconciliations and preparation for statutory reports.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes.
- Provide administrative assistance during the ERP implementation project.
- Create reports, spreadsheets, and other financial documents as needed.
- Step in with operational finance support during vacation cover periods.
- Assist with ongoing improvements to finance workflows and digital processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
- Working familiarity with German accounting standards (HGB).
- Exposure to accounting or ERP tools such as DATEV, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, or comparable systems is beneficial.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel.
- Careful, detail-oriented, and well organized.
- Dependable, proactive, and motivated to learn.
- Able to juggle several tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent in German and English.
Preferred background
- Experience in construction or engineering-related businesses.
- Prior involvement in ERP implementation initiatives.
- Knowledge of project accounting practices.
- Previous work experience in an international workplace.

Additional details
