Job description

Role overview

Duoc UC – Sede Valparaíso is hiring a part-time remote Junior Data Analyst to support data-informed decisions across academic and administrative areas. In this position, you will help gather, clean, and structure information from different sources so it remains accurate and consistent.

What you will do

Your work will include basic statistical analysis, preparing reports and dashboards, and assisting with simple data models that reveal patterns and trends. You will also work with different teams to understand results, turn data into clear visuals, and share insights in a way that is easy to understand.

In addition, you will follow established processes, keep analytical work well documented, and continue building your skills with guidance from more experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Solid analytical ability with some foundational exposure to data analysis for interpreting datasets and supporting decisions.
  • Working understanding of statistics, including descriptive methods and core concepts used in educational and operational contexts.
  • Introductory hands-on experience with data modeling for organizing information, creating simple models, and contributing to forecasting or trend evaluation.
  • Good communication skills for presenting findings, working with cross-functional teams, and converting technical outputs into practical recommendations.
  • Comfort using spreadsheet software such as Excel or Google Sheets, plus early experience with visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Capability to work effectively on your own in a remote setup, manage time well, and respect data governance and privacy standards.
  • Preference for candidates enrolled in or already completed a relevant technical or professional course or program, such as data analytics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or business.
  • Interest in learning, openness to new tools and methods, and motivation to apply analytics in an academic and institutional environment.
