Job description

Role overview

Dynamis, Inc. is hiring a Junior Criminal Analyst to support a high-profile Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) effort focused on protecting the integrity of the U.S. workforce through Worksite Enforcement Unit (WSEU) operations. In this position, you will work closely with HSI special agents and contribute to investigations by reviewing employment verification documents, business records, and government data sources.

The role is detail-heavy, fast-moving, and central to enforcement work that supports notices of inspection, notices of intent to fine, and other authorized actions. It also provides an entry point into federal law enforcement investigations, with mentorship from experienced investigators and opportunities to grow into more advanced compliance and investigative work.

Key duties

  • Review employer Form I-9 records, payroll files, corporate documents, and related employment materials to identify compliance issues and possible violations of federal immigration employment rules.
  • Search and compare information across law enforcement and commercial databases to uncover discrepancies, trends, and indicators relevant to active investigations.
  • Prepare precise, well-supported case summaries, analytical write-ups, and findings that can withstand review and help advance enforcement action.
  • Support coordination and information-sharing with national and international investigative programs and partner organizations.
  • Organize and maintain case files in line with DHS/ICE privacy and data-handling requirements, while helping flag possible worksite compliance concerns.
  • Create briefing packets and analytical support materials for site visits, enforcement activity, and senior leadership meetings.

Required qualifications

A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, public administration, law, or a closely related discipline is required. The position also calls for 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in compliance, investigations, legal support, immigration services, or a similar area.

Applicants should have strong analytical and research ability, along with the capacity to review and summarize large amounts of documentation and data. Clear written and verbal communication skills are important because the role involves producing analytical reports and coordinating regularly with federal law enforcement staff.

High-volume, accurate data entry from paper records into electronic systems is required, as is the ability to run database searches across law enforcement and commercial platforms. Candidates must be able to obtain and keep an ICE suitability determination and must be U.S. citizens.

Preferred background

Experience with federal law enforcement or regulatory agencies is highly valued. Familiarity with employment eligibility verification requirements, including Form I-9 and E-Verify, is considered a strong advantage.

Previous exposure to HSI, ICE, or other DHS component operations, as well as experience handling sensitive or law-enforcement-controlled information, is preferred. Skills with government databases or investigative case management systems are also an asset.

This role is based in New York, NY and is a full-time onsite position.
