Job description
Position Overview
This role, open exclusively to current staff at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay, offers two 12-month posts commencing September 2026. The Junior Clinical Education Fellows will engage in managing diverse medical cases either in acute or general medicine settings. The position uniquely balances clinical responsibilities with a teaching role, dedicating approximately half the time to each on a six-month rotation cycle.
Role Details
Fellows will collaborate closely with Undergraduate Administrative and Clinical Skills teams to support the training and development of medical students, student physician associates, and elective placement students. Clinical work involves practice at multiple hospitals including Furness General Hospital (FGH), Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), as well as community facilities. These sites offer various services from emergency and critical care to outpatient and diagnostic support.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This position suits junior doctors who have completed foundation training and have a strong interest in medical education alongside clinical skill enhancement.
