Role Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic Junior Chefs eager to advance within a purpose-driven culinary environment. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day food preparation emphasizing wellness, nutrition, and top culinary quality standards. This position suits aspiring kitchen professionals who flourish in structured settings and are motivated to learn, contribute, and develop within a team dedicated to innovating health-focused dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes consistent with standardized recipes and plating instructions.
- Execute meals with an emphasis on nutrition, accurate portioning, and attractive presentation.
- Work confidently with whole foods, seafood, lean meats, plant-based options, and alternative proteins.
- Adhere strictly to specifications for dietary-sensitive meals such as gluten-free, vegan, and keto.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and uphold strict food hygiene and safety standards per kitchen guidelines.
- Help with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating inventory.
- Support mise en place and batch preparation to ensure efficient service flow.
- Collaborate productively with culinary colleagues to sustain a positive, effective kitchen atmosphere.
- Report promptly to supervisors any ingredient, equipment, or preparation concerns.
- Assist in training and onboarding junior team members or new employees as necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a line cook, commis, or prep cook within professional kitchens.
- Knowledge of healthy cooking techniques like grilling, steaming, and roasting.
- Ability to follow recipes, plating protocols, and kitchen procedures accurately.
- Basic understanding of nutrition, dietary needs, and common allergens.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow within a structured culinary team.
- Strong knife handling and familiarity with kitchen tools and equipment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to high-quality output.
- Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Additional Desired Skills
- Experience in Mediterranean, plant-based, or low-carb culinary styles.
- Awareness of clean-label and whole-food ingredient quality standards.
