Role overview
We are hiring a Junior Business Analyst to support a program focused on moving on-premises applications to the cloud through rewrites and application modernization. The position is based in Smithfield, Rhode Island, with a day-one onsite / hybrid work arrangement.
The role is centered on helping the organization design, improve, and optimize data systems and data workflows so business outcomes can be achieved more effectively. The person in this role will bring business analysis experience along with a strong command of SQL, RDBMS concepts, data aggregation tools, and data analysis.
What you'll work on
- Support the migration of existing applications from on-premise environments to cloud-based platforms.
- Partner with the team to analyze current and future-state systems and document findings clearly.
- Use SQL, data analysis, and Alteryx-based aggregation to research business and data needs.
- Help document requirements, workflows, and integration steps for ongoing modernization work.
- Work with engineering teams to confirm integrations and ensure the solution is ready for production.
Required qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience working as a business analyst.
- Strong written communication and documentation ability.
- Hands-on experience creating requirement documents, workflow documents, and integration process documentation.
- Deep familiarity with SQL, data analysis, and data aggregation using Alteryx.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and validate integration readiness.
- Business acumen and the ability to translate technical and operational needs into clear documentation.
Compensation and benefits
The annual base salary range for this role is $56,186 to $87,556. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other role-related factors. Additional compensation such as bonus, commission, or other variable pay may be available. Full-time employees are also eligible for paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and 401(k) benefits.
