Business Analyst (Accounting)

Role Overview

This full-time permanent position is for a Business Analyst with an accounting focus based in Mississauga, Ontario. The role combines business analysis, accounting knowledge, and strong Agile project leadership to support complex, cross-functional initiatives with long-term business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate an Agile project environment with solid project management discipline.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, cross-functional workstreams that contribute lasting value to the organization.
• Apply accounting expertise, including journal entries and general ledger processes.
• Take responsibility for the product backlog and keep priorities organized.
• Shape program direction by structuring the plan, reviewing data, improving performance, and helping guide resource allocation from concept through delivery.
• Develop a deep understanding of the business domain and help steer product and service direction using a domain-driven approach.
• Partner with development teams to design, build, and launch new products, features, and programs.
• Influence stakeholders across multiple teams and organizational levels.
• Improve processes across functions and teams, both internally and externally.
• Track program progress, remove obstacles, and keep delivery moving in challenging situations.
• Manage multiple competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate clearly upward and across the organization.
• Serve as the bridge between technology teams and end users regarding technology requirements.
• Assess business needs and determine whether they should be addressed through custom application interfaces or other technical solutions.
• Support client requirements analysis, interface planning between applications, interface testing, and project implementation.
• Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to provide training, answer application-related questions, support user needs, and recommend solutions.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong project management background with the ability to handle Agile initiatives.
• PMI or GMP certification is mandatory to join for this client assignment.
• Hands-on knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.
• Ability to lead in ambiguous environments and maintain momentum.
• Experience balancing several competing priorities at once.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work closely with both technical teams and business users.
