Job description

Role overview

Atturra is looking for a driven Junior Business Analyst to support application modernisation work. The position centres on assessing the current environment, helping shape the design, supporting migration activities, and assisting with transition into support.

This role is Canberra-based and requires working on site as needed by the project. Because of the security level involved, applicants must already hold a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance when they apply.

Key responsibilities

  • Help analyse and migrate protected business applications from AFP on-premises infrastructure to the AFP Azure cloud.
  • Contribute to continuous discovery, design, and migration work inside AFP agile sprint cycles.
  • Support modernisation efforts, including refactored migration and testing of business applications and related workloads in AFP’s protected Azure public cloud environment.
  • Run discovery and requirement-gathering sessions with corporate stakeholders, then convert the outcomes into user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Document application and workload dependencies based on stakeholder workshops and system discovery activities.
  • Assist with application and workload categorisation in line with the Cloud Adoption Framework.
  • Support agile delivery and wave planning by preparing user stories and repeatable reporting routines.

Key deliverables

  • Requirements traceability management.
  • Application and workload mapping datasets.
  • Enrichment datasets.
  • Change management strategy.

What will help you succeed

The role calls for strong requirements practices, accurate documentation, dependable data capture, and confidence in meeting facilitation and minute-taking. You should be comfortable engaging stakeholders and communicating technical information clearly in writing.

For this engagement, Australian citizenship and an existing NV1 clearance, or higher, are essential. Experience or familiarity with the Cloud Adoption Framework and Agile delivery methods such as Scrum would be an advantage.

Working conditions

The position is based in Canberra and can involve on-site or hybrid working depending on project needs. The engagement type is listed as permanent or contract.
