Overview
Qatar Duty Free is hiring a Junior Barista to support food and beverage front-of-house operations in Doha. This role sits within the customer service job family and is based at Hamad International Airport, where the company operates a large retail and dining environment with more than 90 boutiques, over 30 restaurants and cafés, and more than 40,000 square meters of space.
Role summary
The Junior Barista will work alongside the barista team to prepare and serve beverages to guests, while also building practical knowledge in food safety and stock control. This position is designed for someone starting out in hospitality and eager to learn operational standards in a busy café or restaurant setting.
Key responsibilities
- Support inventory checks by counting and recording items accurately so product availability is maintained and shortages are avoided.
- Follow Food Safety System Certification procedures using checklists and manuals to keep handling practices compliant and safe.
- Coordinate with the barista team on ordering decisions to manage stock levels, limit waste, and support sales.
- Maintain clear records of wastage and escalate any inconsistencies to management to help protect profitability.
- Learn and apply the correct bar setup and preparation routine according to established operating standards.
- Help prepare and serve beverages in line with company guidelines to deliver a positive guest experience.
- Carry out additional duties connected to the role as assigned by the Head of Department.
