Job description
About the Company
This role is with a long-established and thriving events and media production business located in Abney Park, Cheadle, in South Manchester. The organisation delivers major international events and produces innovative digital media, with a primary focus on the healthcare sector.
Role Overview
The company is hiring a Junior AV Technician to join its technical team and help deliver live, virtual, and hybrid events. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the office.
What You’ll Do
You will support the handling of event and internal audiovisual equipment across a range of tasks, including preparing and packing kit, carrying out testing and maintenance, and keeping the internal stock booking system up to date. As you grow in the position, you will also assist with event delivery on location in the UK and internationally.
Requirements
Strong communication and people skills are important because the role involves working closely with project teams to make sure the technical side of each event is fully supported. Prior hands-on experience with AV equipment, lighting, and other event-related equipment is essential. The role also requires adaptability, as there may be occasions when extra hours or out-of-hours work is needed. Familiarity with common office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook would be an advantage, and holding a full clean UK driving licence is also helpful.
Benefits and Career Development
Joining the team is positioned as the start of a career rather than just a job. Most employees have advanced within the company, and the business is keen to bring in new AV talent and help them grow over time.
Application Notes
Applicants should submit a CV along with a cover letter that includes their approximate salary expectations. Recruitment through agencies is not being accepted. Candidates must be able to show proof of their right to work in the UK before employment begins. The employer also refers applicants to its website privacy notice.
