Vis Legis Law Practice (VLLP) is a rapidly expanding full-service Indian law firm offering legal advisory services to domestic and global businesses, investors, and institutions. VLLP provides comprehensive solutions spanning civil, commercial and criminal litigation, arbitration, cross-border deals, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal advice across multiple sectors.

Role Overview

The Mumbai office of VLLP seeks a highly driven Junior Associate to contribute to their Corporate and Disputes Practice. This on-site, full-time role involves collaborating closely with partners and senior associates on diverse corporate transactions, commercial matters, and dispute resolution cases.

Key Duties

  • Represent clients in courts, tribunals, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), arbitration panels, and other judicial or regulatory forums.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents including contracts, commercial agreements, pleadings, opinions, and transaction paperwork.
  • Support corporate transactions, provide commercial guidance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and produce opinions, briefs, and litigation strategies.
  • Manage client relations by delivering commercially viable legal advice.
  • Engage with government authorities, regulators, external lawyers, and stakeholders.
  • Assist partners in arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Contribute to business development through client presentations, networking, and knowledge-building events.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments while managing multiple assignments within tight deadlines.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • LL.B. degree from an accredited university.
  • Registration with the Bar Council of India.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience working in a law firm.
  • Practical exposure to civil and commercial litigation, corporate transactional work, contract drafting, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Solid grasp of Company Law, Contract Law, Arbitration Law, and the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code.
  • Strong command of English in both written and spoken forms.
  • Excellent client communication, relationship-building, and presentation abilities.
  • Robust legal research and analytical skills with precise drafting capabilities.
  • Independent case management skills combined with teamwork aptitude.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, court proceedings, and other business engagements.
  • Understanding and interest in business development and relationship management activities.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience representing clients before High Courts, the NCLT, and commercial courts.
  • Familiarity with cross-border transactions or international commercial law matters.
  • Additional certifications or specialized legal qualifications are advantageous.
