Role Summary

This on-site Junior Accountant position in Doha, Qatar is a full-time role focused on keeping daily accounting activities running smoothly. The selected candidate will be involved in posting journal entries, handling invoices, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. The role also includes maintaining the general ledger, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports and supporting schedules, and keeping accounting data accurate and up to date. In addition, the Junior Accountant will assist senior colleagues during month-end and year-end close, help organize financial documentation, support audit-related work, and respond to internal finance queries. The position requires close coordination with the advisory team to maintain strong financial controls and contribute to trustworthy client reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Record and post journal entries accurately as part of daily accounting routines.
  • Process invoices and support both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure records remain complete and organized.
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate differences when needed.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities alongside senior team members.
  • Enter and update financial data in accounting systems with precision and timeliness.
  • Organize accounting files and assist with audit preparation and related requests.
  • Address internal questions regarding financial information in a professional manner.
  • Work with the advisory team to support financial controls and dependable reporting.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger upkeep.
  • Comfort using accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and simple data analysis.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines at once.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills for working with colleagues and handling client-related requests.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field, or comparable training and experience.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Doha, Qatar and operate in a busy, client-oriented environment.
  • Interest in developing skills in advisory and analytical finance work; prior junior-level or internship experience in accounting or audit is helpful.
  • Exposure to cloud-based finance tools and a basic understanding of reporting or budgeting would be an advantage.
