Junior Accountant and Auditor

Role overview

We are hiring a Junior Accountant to join a growing finance function in Dubai. This position suits someone who is detail-focused, motivated, and comfortable working with a high number of transactions while producing accurate financial reports on time in a busy work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and reconcile daily sales, purchase, payment, and expense transactions with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable tasks, including timely reconciliations and follow-ups with vendors and customers.
• Help prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Assist with VAT submissions and maintain compliance with applicable local rules and regulations.
• Track cash flow and prepare management reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support the yearly audit cycle.
• Maintain an understanding of retail and warehouse inventory controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes for better efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• At least 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of local tax and VAT rules, along with awareness of corporate tax.
• Experience using ERP or accounting software such as Odoo or an equivalent platform.
• Strong Excel and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and meet deadlines consistently.

Preferred background

• Prior exposure to Retail or FMCG environments is an advantage, especially if you have handled audits for ecommerce businesses.
• Practical experience with stock audits, inventory reconciliation, and stock-taking activities is desirable.
