Role Overview
Established in 1935, Tamil Murasu holds the distinction of being Singapore's sole Tamil language newspaper, serving as the primary news source for the Tamil-speaking Indian community. It features diverse content covering local and international news, current events, sports, entertainment, and in-depth coverage on the Indian sub-continent and community. The publication acts as a strong voice for the Tamil community in Singapore.
As a Journalist or Correspondent, the successful candidate will produce engaging news content and write or translate articles for print and online platforms. Additional responsibilities include contributing to digital mediums such as videos and podcasts. Candidates must be effectively bilingual with fluent Tamil communication skills, comfortable appearing on video, and capable of meeting regular publishing deadlines.
Job Requirements
- Possess a minimum diploma or degree from an accredited university or polytechnic.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; prior experience is not mandatory.
- Strong news judgment with awareness of current trends in mobile content consumption.
- Creativity and resourcefulness in content production.
