This role requires managing permits across various pole owners, each with unique protocols, ensuring seamless progress from initiation to closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigate and comply with diverse pole owner requirements and submission platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date systems and trackers to reflect current permit statuses clearly.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, field personnel, vendors, and pole owners to resolve delays and maintain schedule adherence.
  • Handle Make Ready estimates and notifications, ensuring coordinated advancement of fiber build permits.
  • Keep precise records of billing, purchase orders, and vendors associated with projects.
  • Identify issues promptly and propose effective solutions.
  • Undertake additional projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years experience in joint use coordination, telecommunications or utility permitting, or pole attachment work, capable of managing permits independently with minimal onboarding.
  • Proficient with permit tracking and pole owner portals such as SiteTracker, Alden One, NJUNS, Katapult, including handling Joint Pole Applications and make ready processes.
  • Ability to juggle multiple permits simultaneously, adjust priorities as deadlines change, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with consistent follow-through.
  • Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while reliably contributing as part of a team.
  • Availability during standard business hours within Central or Mountain Time zones.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with telecommunications Outside Plant (OSP) work including fiber, copper, small cell, new builds, and relocations.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the National Electric Safety Code as they relate to joint use.
  • Experience in engaging with pole owners, regulatory agencies, and right-of-way permitting processes.

Workplace Culture and Expectations

  • We emphasize honesty and accountability; team members take ownership, proactively raise concerns, and follow through on tasks.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical due to responsibility for billing, purchase orders, and vendor records.
  • Respectful, professional interactions and clear, direct communication are fundamental values.
  • Support for consistent performers with opportunities for internal promotion.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; combination of education and relevant experience considered.
  • Associate degree in any engineering discipline is advantageous.
  • At least two years experience in engineering or utility-related environments.
  • Successful completion of a background check is mandatory after offer acceptance.

Physical Demands

  • Extended periods of stationary work involving handling of documents and office supplies.
  • Frequent use of computer and technology devices for document management, data review, and communication.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage ranges from $25 to $34 based on experience.
  • Includes group medical coverage, with optional dental and vision plans.
  • 401(k) savings plan with company matching contributions.
