Job description

About Holden

Holden is a New York City fine jewelry brand that centers love in every expression. Its collections are gender-neutral and crafted by hand using recycled gold and lab-grown stones. The company is Climate Neutral Certified and contributes 1% of total sales to The Trevor Project, with a minimum yearly donation of $50,000. Holden is a compact but rapidly expanding team with a big growth vision, and it seeks people who can contribute meaningfully from the start.

Role Overview

The Jewelry Production Manager will oversee Holden’s jewelry production operations and help turn new ideas and collections into finished products. This position is responsible for managing the full production cycle so every item reaches customers on schedule and meets the company’s quality expectations, while also working closely with leadership and design on future product lines.

The right person brings strong operational discipline, a sharp eye for product development, and genuine enthusiasm for craftsmanship. They should be comfortable coordinating with manufacturing partners, sourcing components, improving workflows, and supporting new product concepts. Reporting to company leadership, this role will be important in strengthening production systems and broadening the product range.

Production Management

  • Oversee each customer order from the start of production through final delivery, making sure quality, accuracy, and timing stay on track.
  • Distribute production work among manufacturing partners based on available capacity, technical fit, schedule, and product complexity.
  • Act as the main contact for manufacturing partners and carry out regular in-person quality checks so finished pieces match Holden’s craftsmanship standards.
  • Create and refine workflows, systems, and operating methods that help the business scale efficiently.
  • Handle repairs, ring resizings, remakes, and returns with prompt resolution and a smooth customer experience.
  • Work out pricing, lead times, and production terms with new suppliers and makers while protecting quality standards and target margins.
  • Build and maintain production reports, schedules, and performance measures that keep suppliers and internal teams accountable.
  • Spot and roll out process improvements that raise scalability, efficiency, and quality control.

Product Development

  • Collaborate with the co-founder and Product Development Lead to create new product categories, collections, and custom offerings.
  • Find and assess new materials, gemstones, findings, and manufacturing partners to support innovation.
  • Manage development schedules from concept through prototyping, sampling, testing, costing, and launch.
  • Study market trends, materials, and manufacturing methods to uncover new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Help shape repeatable product development processes as Holden enters additional categories.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, product development, project management, supply chain, operations, or a similar area.
  • Background working with outside vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, or development partners.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
  • Very high attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in improving processes and leading cross-functional work.
  • Experience with sourcing, costing, purchasing, inventory planning, or supply chain operations.
  • Jewelry industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort with CAD tools, jewelry design, product development, or manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment and take full ownership of complex work.
  • Strong appreciation for craftsmanship and design.

Additional Details

This is an on-site role based in Midtown Manhattan, with a five-day in-office schedule. The position offers a competitive salary and equity, a 401(k) plan with employer match, direct and strategic access to leadership, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, a modern dog-friendly office, team outings and happy hours, fresh coffee and snacks, and an employee discount on Holden products.
