Job description

About JD.com

JD.com, also known as JINGDONG, is built on the idea of making everyday life smarter, faster, and more connected. The company began in China and has grown into a globally trusted technology and supply chain ecosystem that serves more than 700 million customers. Its business spans retail, logistics, technology, property, and other areas where innovation creates practical impact.

Global presence

The company is expanding internationally through a digitally intelligent cross-border supply chain and a logistics network recognized for its scale. With platforms such as Joybuy, JD.com connects trusted products with customers across China, the U.S., Europe, APAC, the Middle East, and other regions. Each year, the company welcomes over 20,000 students and graduates, reflecting a strong focus on developing young talent and fresh ideas. This role offers the chance to contribute to global projects from the outset.

What JD.com offers

Interns and graduates work on practical, meaningful projects alongside experienced colleagues across a worldwide network. The environment is fast-moving and supportive, with an emphasis on development, learning, competitive pay, strong office locations, and a people-first culture. The aim is to help team members build momentum early in their careers.

About the program

You will join the JD Vanguard (JDV) Graduate Program, which serves as a front-line leadership route for future supply chain talent. Over a one-year period, participants work on real business initiatives, develop technical capabilities and people-leadership skills, and learn how JD Logistics operates globally, with an opportunity to extend and continue the journey.

Role overview

This financial operations internship focuses on settlement, reconciliation, receivables, process improvement, and cross-functional support within a logistics environment. The work involves analyzing billing data, improving systems and workflows, monitoring compliance, and supporting decision-making through reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities

You will handle bill reconciliation and exception management, review logistics charges and insurance premiums, spot data mismatches, and work toward resolution so that receivables are collected on time, bad-debt risk is lowered, settlement becomes more efficient, and customer satisfaction improves.

You will assess settlement pain points, define system enhancement requirements, help drive implementation, and design automation solutions that reduce manual work, increase accuracy, and support business growth.

You will monitor contracts, settlement paperwork, and cash movements to identify compliance risks, recommend preventive controls, and help ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory obligations while protecting company funds and reputation.

You will coordinate with business and technical teams to secure resources, remove settlement bottlenecks, provide financial guidance and data support, promote policy adoption, and strengthen collaboration across departments.

You will prepare regular settlement analysis reports, use data modeling to surface operational risks and improvement opportunities, support management decisions, and contribute to adjustments in business strategy and target achievement.

You will also oversee accounts receivable aging and payment progress, design and apply collection approaches, analyze the causes of bad debt, and suggest process improvements that support healthy cash flow and financial stability.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is currently studying Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or a related subject and is comfortable working with data and numerical analysis. An interest in financial operations, billing, and process improvement is important, and familiarity with Procure-to-Pay or Order-to-Cash processes is considered an advantage.

You should be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office, highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing several tasks at once, and comfortable working collaboratively across teams. Strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to identify opportunities for better processes are essential. English fluency is required.

Internship details

This is a 6-month full-time internship based fully onsite in the Dublin office. An immediate start is preferred, and there may be an opportunity to move into a full-time role depending on performance.
