Job Summary

We seek a diligent and quality-focused Janitor/Cleaner for light duty tasks to join our team at the Canadian Forces Base in Shilo. The position works evening shifts from Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, ensuring clean and sanitary office environments.

Primary Duties

• Care for floors by vacuuming as necessary and damp mopping hard surfaces in small areas.
• Sanitize washrooms, shared spaces, and entryways to maintain hygiene standards.
• Restock consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels, and soap to ensure ample supplies.
• Perform dusting of office workstation cubicles to preserve cleanliness.
• Clean and polish chrome and other polished metal fixtures for a pristine appearance.
• Spot clean walls, partitions, doors, light switches, and window ledges to enhance overall tidiness.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in floor care, including scrubbing, buffing, and polishing, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of floor stripping and waxing techniques considered a plus.
• Effective communication skills with supervisors, clients, and the public.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrate a positive outlook and strong dedication to work responsibilities.
• Capability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• WHMIS certification required; training can be provided if needed.
• Access to the military base requires clearance through fingerprint security checks.
