Role overview

SSC Services for Education is looking for full-time janitors to help maintain clean, organized, and safe learning spaces. The position is based at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, with additional openings at other school-district locations. Applications are accepted online only.

Schedule

This is a Monday through Friday full-time role, and the exact hours can change based on operational needs. The schedule details will be discussed during the interview. Full-time and part-time flexibility is available for many scheduling requirements.

Pay

The role offers a fixed wage of $11.00 per hour.

What the job involves

The janitor will be responsible for keeping buildings orderly and sanitary by carrying out routine and heavy-duty cleaning work. This includes floor care, carpet shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and trash removal.

• Remove trash and follow approved disposal and infection-control procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors using the prescribed cleaning process.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed, then return items to their proper place.
• Clean assigned areas with designated tools and supplies, including full surface sanitization and the eight-step cleaning method.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to preserve a safe, tidy environment.
• Notice areas that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks without waiting to be told.
• Carry out supervisor-assigned work and follow all federal, state, and county rules.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when required.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain a professional attitude with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Experience and requirements

Previous janitorial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
