About the Role
The position of IT Service Management (ITSM) Consultant focusing on sMax is offered for one year onsite in Doha, Qatar. The role involves working full-time shifts of 8 hours daily. ITSM practices are aimed at aligning IT services seamlessly with business objectives and customer requirements to ensure impactful organizational success. The scope includes managing service strategies, design, transitions, operations, and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities
- Draft detailed solution designs, requirement traceability matrices, as-built documentation, and test plans.
- Responsible for owning deliverables according to effort estimates, leading teams to successful project completion.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and conduct knowledge transfer sessions regarding product functionalities.
- Deploy and integrate OpenText (previously Micro Focus) Ops Bridge products independently, including configuration of high availability, SSL, and Single Sign-On setups.
- Engage with product support and research & development teams for troubleshooting and resolving product-related issues.
- Develop and maintain precise technical documentation such as release notes, user guides, and test summaries.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ITSM and related consulting roles.
- Expertise with Ops Bridge suite products, having hands-on experience in at least 2 to 3 suite components.
- Proficient with APIs (REST/SOAP), Linux and Windows command line interfaces, virtualization technologies.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting, or PowerShell.
- Knowledgeable in handling data formats like XML and JSON.
- Strong familiarity with Unix (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.
- Experience using PostgreSQL databases.
- Ability to configure Kubernetes environments.
- Understanding and application of ITIL best practices; certifications in ITIL Foundation and PMI are advantageous.
- Competency with CMDB, UCMDB, and sMax rules and libraries.
Educational and Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Programming certification preferred.
- ITIL Foundation and PMI certifications considered a plus.
