Italian Quality Assurance Lead

Overview

This contract position involves leading Italian Quality Assurance efforts remotely, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and trainer performance in Italian AI training projects. You will critically evaluate Italian AI-generated content and contributions from trainers and QA staff, applying project-specific guidelines. You will provide comprehensive written feedback and ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct spot-check reviews of Italian content items to detect quality concerns and communicate feedback directly.
• Alert teams about recurring or urgent issues and maintain ongoing communication about guideline updates via Discord.
• Clarify queries related to Italian grammar, accents, tone, translation accuracy, terminology, and cultural nuances.
• Engage inactive contributors to boost participation, monitor follow-up actions, and report availability challenges.
• Develop and update Italian language documentation including style guides, FAQs, onboarding materials, trackers, and quality assurance tools like honeypots.
• Facilitate onboarding and training sessions for Italian contributors to ensure a consistent application of language guidelines.
• Identify patterns in quality gaps and recommend enhancements to quality assurance workflows.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Italian, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or related fields.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Italian with strong writing and reading capabilities.
• Proficient in English to comprehend project protocols, interact with teams, and provide clear feedback.
• Over three years of experience in roles such as Italian writing, editing, translation, localization, QA, AI training, education, or annotation.
• In-depth knowledge of Italian grammar, spelling, punctuation, accents, agreement rules, verb forms, register, tone, and cultural context.
• Ability to critically assess Italian text for mistranslations, awkward phrasing, tone issues, verb misuse, factual inaccuracies, ambiguities, and inconsistent terminology.
• Preferred experience in leading or supporting remote teams involved with annotation, review, or quality assurance.
• Familiarity with tools like Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, project management dashboards, and trackers.
• Highly organized and detail-focused, with skill in maintaining style guides, FAQs, and quality documentation.
• Experience related to AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, or rubric-based QA is advantageous.
