Job description

Role Overview

The position involves supporting the operation and management of TKMS's data centers and technical rooms located in Wedel. The specialist will ensure the uninterrupted functioning of these facilities and manage coordination with vendors and service providers responsible for site-specific IT components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous operation of TKMS's data centers and technical rooms in Wedel.
  • Coordinate and oversee suppliers and service providers related to local IT infrastructure.
  • Contribute to cross-functional IT assignments and implement site-specific IT measures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all local departments to capture IT needs and evaluate their technical feasibility.
  • Perform security-sensitive tasks and assist with company-wide and cross-site activities utilizing the expertise of the IT data center team.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in (Business) Informatics or comparable qualification (e.g., IT specialist in system integration).
  • Several years of professional experience, preferably with extensive practice in administration, operation, or design of IT infrastructures; industry knowledge is beneficial.
  • Strong expertise in IT infrastructure administration including deep understanding of server operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization technologies like VMware, backup and storage solutions, and modern network architectures (routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN).
  • Knowledge of implementing IT security standards such as ISO27001 and BSI IT-Grundschutz, alongside experience managing hardware operations in data centers.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented approach with substantial initiative and eagerness to learn; excellent communication and teamwork skills; capability to explain complex technical information clearly.
