Job description
About Kepler Communications
Kepler Communications is building the next generation of on-demand space connectivity. The company delivers real-time internet access for space-based assets and is helping power a new era of data-led exploration and innovation. With 33 satellites already launched, Kepler operates the first commercial optical data relay constellation, supporting continuous space communications along with advanced on-orbit compute and hosted payload capabilities.
What makes Kepler stand out is its people. The team brings together bold thinkers, skilled builders, and problem-solvers who enjoy working at the edge of what is possible in space. The company values diverse viewpoints and aims to create a place where people can grow, lead, and contribute to a global impact.
This is a chance to join a fast-moving environment and help build the future space economy.
Role Summary
Kepler is hiring a practical, hands-on IT System Administrator to support, maintain, and improve internal IT infrastructure, business systems, and day-to-day operations. This role is well suited to a senior IT generalist who enjoys variety, ownership, and solving real-world problems across multiple systems.
You will work across Linux environments, Microsoft 365, identity and access management, networking, SaaS applications, automation, and internal system integrations. The position also plays an important part in improving security controls, audit preparedness, and compliance-related IT processes.
The team is looking for someone with strong technical judgment and solid hands-on experience, not someone who needs to be a deep specialist in every area. The ideal candidate can work through unclear problems and turn them into workable solutions with limited oversight.
What Success Looks Like
During the first few months, you will take ownership of assigned systems and projects, help resolve complex issues, improve documentation, and support teammates.
Over time, you will contribute to stronger infrastructure maturity, better security and compliance processes, more automation, and useful integrations that help teams across the company work more effectively.
A successful person in this role is curious, practical, security-conscious, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to keep work moving without needing every step laid out in advance.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is CAD 89,062 to CAD 139,062 per year.
Final total compensation is determined at the company’s discretion and may depend on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, performance, education, and training. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if their expectations differ from the posted range, as the range does not represent the full compensation package.
Benefits and Perks
Kepler offers a competitive compensation package with equity participation, extensive health coverage, and a range of workplace perks designed to support wellbeing, growth, and team connection.
Employees can expect health, dental, and vision insurance that also covers dependents, unlimited vacation, a supportive parental leave policy, and a company-wide holiday shutdown. The company also hosts semi-annual all-company parties and regular in-office team events.
Other benefits include relocation support for approved roles, an annual professional development budget of $1,500, and a fully stocked Toronto office kitchen with snacks, drinks, games, and quality appliances. Town halls, celebration calls, and company-wide events help keep employees engaged and connected. Kepler is also a certified Great Place to Work® for five years in a row.
Employment Equity and Accommodation
Kepler Communications is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Applications are welcomed from qualified candidates of all backgrounds, including women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
If you need accommodation at any stage of the hiring process, you can contact the People & Culture team at accommodation@kepler.space for support.
Hiring Process Note
All hiring decisions are made by people. Human recruiters are involved throughout the recruitment process. AI-based tools may be used to support the early review of applications by ranking candidates using job-related criteria, but they do not replace human judgment.
