Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a technically capable and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to support employees and users across the business in New Zealand. This role is centered on keeping day-to-day technology running smoothly by resolving issues, maintaining systems, and offering dependable hands-on assistance.
What you'll do
- Respond to first- and second-line support requests from staff and other users.
- Investigate and fix problems related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and systems.
- Set up, configure, and look after computers, accessories, and core business applications.
- Help manage user accounts, password resets, and permission/access changes.
- Track the health of IT equipment, infrastructure, and related systems.
- Record help requests, resolutions, and technical steps for future reference.
- Escalate more complex issues to the appropriate team or specialist when needed.
- Assist with software patches, system enhancements, and wider IT initiatives.
- Follow internal security requirements and technology standards.
- Provide clear, professional, and customer-focused technical support.
What we're looking for
- A diploma or bachelor’s qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Prior exposure to IT support, service desk, or technical troubleshooting work is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365, networking basics, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to install hardware and configure software correctly.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Good written and verbal communication, along with solid customer service skills.
- Comfort working independently while juggling several priorities at once.
- Must be legally allowed to work in New Zealand.
