Job Overview
We are looking for a technically capable and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to help keep day-to-day technology running smoothly. This role focuses on resolving user issues, supporting core systems, maintaining devices and software, and contributing to reliable IT operations across the business.
What You’ll Do
- Assist users through phone, email, remote access, or face-to-face support channels.
- Investigate and fix problems involving hardware, software, networks, and general system performance.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and business software tools.
- Administer user accounts, access rights, and password recovery requests.
- Keep an eye on IT equipment, operating systems, and infrastructure to support stable performance.
- Record support tickets, resolutions, and technical instructions for future reference.
- Pass complex issues to the appropriate team or specialist when needed.
- Support software rollouts, system upgrades, and other IT-related initiatives.
- Follow internal IT security standards and recommended practices.
- Provide clear, professional, and helpful customer support to employees and users.
What We’re Looking For
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- Some experience in IT support, help desk, technical troubleshooting, or system administration is an advantage.
- Practical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking basics, and troubleshooting methods.
- Comfort with hardware setup, software configuration, and end-user support tasks.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on your own and juggle several priorities at once.
- Must be legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
