Role overview
We are seeking an entry-level / junior IT Support Officer to help keep day-to-day technology services running smoothly. This role suits someone who is enthusiastic about starting a career in IT, enjoys helping users, and can deliver dependable technical assistance across hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for common technical problems involving devices, applications, and connectivity.
- Set up, install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Diagnose issues and resolve them efficiently while maintaining a professional approach.
- Help users with account creation, password resets, and access-related requests.
- Support Microsoft 365 tools, email services, and everyday productivity applications.
- Keep clear and accurate logs of incidents, resolutions, and IT equipment records.
- Refer more complex matters to senior IT staff when required.
- Assist with maintenance tasks, system updates, backups, and ongoing IT improvement work.
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and basic networking.
- Working familiarity with Windows environments and Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
- Strong ability to investigate issues and find practical solutions.
- Good verbal and written communication, along with a helpful customer-service mindset.
- Ability to juggle multiple requests and prioritize support tasks effectively.
- Careful attention to detail and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- An IT-related qualification, certification, or technical training will be considered an added advantage.
