Role overview
This is a full-time, entry-level IT support position based in Australia. The role is suited to recent graduates or early-career candidates who want to build a foundation in technical support and workplace IT operations. You will help keep day-to-day technology running smoothly while learning from experienced senior team members.
What you will do
- Act as the first point of contact for basic technical issues involving hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Diagnose common problems with desktops, laptops, printers, and access or connection concerns.
- Set up, install, configure, and maintain IT devices and software used in the office.
- Help with user onboarding tasks such as account creation, password resets, and permissions management.
- Support the upkeep of office networks, Wi-Fi, and simple server-related systems.
- Record, monitor, and update support requests in a ticketing platform.
- Pass more advanced issues to senior IT staff when they need deeper investigation.
- Assist with tracking IT assets, equipment inventory, and related records.
- Support routine maintenance such as software updates, patching, and system checks.
- Follow internal IT guidelines, process standards, and security practices.
What we are looking for
- A diploma or bachelor’s qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related area.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems such as Windows or macOS, and common software tools.
- Basic familiarity with networking concepts like IP addresses, DNS, and Wi-Fi.
- A strong eagerness to learn and grow technical capabilities on the job.
- Good analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to collaborate well in a team-based environment.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools.
Preferred background
- Any internship or practical exposure in helpdesk or IT support work.
- Experience using ticketing tools such as Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow, or Freshservice.
- Basic awareness of cybersecurity principles.
- Exposure to cloud platforms or administration tools such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace Admin.
- CompTIA A+ or a similar certification is helpful, though not mandatory.
