Role overview
BIS Safety Software is a SaaS company focused on helping organizations manage safety, learning, and compliance. The company is seeking a Level 1 IT Support professional to help keep internal teams running smoothly by handling day-to-day technical support and contributing to the health of its IT environment.
This position is based in person at the Sherwood Park, Alberta office.
What you'll do
- Set up, install, configure, and update computers, network devices, and related peripherals.
- Respond to internal IT requests, prioritize issues, and escalate when needed.
- Help maintain internal technology resources such as servers, routers, and other in-house systems.
- Support backup processes and work to reduce the risk of company data loss.
- Assist with the administration and rollout of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint for employees.
- Contribute to cybersecurity efforts and help support SOC audit activities.
- Coordinate with external IT specialists to keep business requirements, processes, and technical support aligned.
- Keep technical documentation current, including procedures, fixes, and configuration details.
- Track and manage company IT assets.
- Use the company ticketing platform to log, monitor, and resolve support cases.
What you bring
- A detail-focused working style with strong organization across multiple tasks.
- Solid troubleshooting ability and a practical approach to solving technical problems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft tools, especially SharePoint and Office 365.
- The ability to identify issues clearly and explain solutions in a straightforward way.
- Comfort supporting and educating teammates with technical questions.
- Capability to solve IT issues both face-to-face and remotely.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing well in a team setting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Level 1 IT support or a similar technical support role.
- Good working knowledge of computer systems, network and systems administration, databases, data storage, and phone systems.
- Experience using ticketing tools such as Zendesk or a comparable system.
- Post-secondary education in an IT-related program is considered an asset.
Preferred certifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) credentials are beneficial.
