Role overview

The IT Specialist will take ownership of day-to-day IT support and infrastructure upkeep, helping keep business systems secure, stable, and effective. This position focuses on resolving user issues, supporting internal teams, and contributing to technology improvements that strengthen operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Track service requests in the Service Manager platform and keep updates current so issues move toward resolution without delay.
  • Identify and fix problems related to hardware, software, networking, and telephony in a timely manner.
  • Guide users through technical solutions step by step with clear and practical communication.
  • Refer difficult technical incidents to the relevant IT specialists for deeper investigation and resolution.
  • Work with other IT teams to handle incidents and help improve system performance and functionality.
  • Keep IT asset records accurate and up to date to ensure proper monitoring and accountability.
  • Support call center teams at both first and second levels, helping reduce downtime and maintain smooth operations.
  • Respond quickly to issues affecting switches, servers, and CCTV systems, and escalate when required.
  • Regularly observe system performance and trigger escalation workflows when signs of disruption appear.
  • Record troubleshooting steps, fixes, and configuration details in the ticketing system for future use.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including setting up accounts and arranging equipment.
  • Follow IT policies and meet SLA commitments within the call center environment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of experience in a technical support position.
  • Good working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.
  • Exposure to ITIL practices and ticketing tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach to working with others.
  • Comfort working independently as well as within a team.
  • Solid command of Microsoft Windows and the MS Office suite.
