Role Overview

This is a part-time onsite IT support role based in the New York office, with a schedule of 24 hours per week. The position reports directly to the CEO and offers compensation of $35 per hour.

Position Summary

The firm is looking for a dependable and experienced IT Specialist to deliver onsite technical support and keep the organization’s technology environment running smoothly. The role covers computer systems, networks, software, telecommunications, and cybersecurity, while also assisting attorneys and staff with everyday technical needs.

The ideal candidate is practical, responsive, and comfortable resolving a wide variety of technology issues in a busy legal setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical assistance to attorneys and staff at the office.
  • Set up, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, phones, and other workplace technology.
  • Administer user accounts, passwords, access rights, and permission controls.
  • Support Microsoft 365 tools and applications.
  • Oversee office internet performance, connectivity, and wireless network reliability.
  • Coordinate software updates and hardware refreshes or upgrades.
  • Apply cybersecurity measures such as antivirus protection, firewall management, and data security controls.
  • Support legal software tools and integrations, including Mycase and Monday.com.
  • Help create and maintain backup systems and disaster recovery processes.
  • Resolve issues with audio/visual equipment and conference room technology.
  • Liaise with outside IT vendors when needed.
  • Maintain documentation for technical processes and IT inventory.
  • Suggest technology improvements that strengthen efficiency and security.

Qualifications

  • An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of IT support experience is required.
  • Experience supporting both Microsoft 365 and Google-based environments.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking, cybersecurity best practices, and cloud technologies.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while handling several priorities at once.

Additional Information

This role is onsite in New York and follows a part-time schedule of 24 hours per week. The compensation rate is $35 per hour. The role reports to the CEO.
