Role overview
The IT Site Administrative Specialist supports the day-to-day operation of site-based IT and OT environments, covering both office and production settings. This role is focused on keeping systems, devices, and network connections reliable, while also improving user adoption, security awareness, and support for new technology rollouts. You will also help plan and coordinate IT work tied to innovation and conversion efforts at the site.
Core responsibilities
- Handle the delivery, setup, and resolution of issues for standard SIG hardware and software, including desktops, notebooks, telephony, and video conferencing tools.
- Advise users on how to make effective use of standard communication and collaboration technologies.
- Support compliance with information security expectations, including user awareness activities and limited access administration through approved workflows.
- Maintain site-level data acquisition systems and assist with Power BI dashboard support.
- Help ensure consistent service quality by delivering IT support for OT systems in line with service management processes.
- Support production-related IT/OT platforms so they remain stable and perform well, working closely with internal teams, system vendors, and global IT support groups.
- Coordinate and, where needed, lead infrastructure projects or work packages at the site, and contribute to application-related projects.
- Manage wired and wireless campus network administration and carry out basic fault diagnosis on central network infrastructure.
Skills, experience, and education
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Practical background in IT support, infrastructure, or IT/OT systems in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Experience supporting end-user devices and software such as desktops, laptops, telephony, and collaboration applications.
- Working knowledge of IT security principles and good security practices.
- Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical colleagues and end users.
