IT Field Technician

Role overview

An opportunity is available for an IT Field Technician to support a private clinic network operating across Ireland. The role combines hands-on technical support with site-to-site travel, equipment movement, and general maintenance assistance.

In this position, you will handle day-to-day IT issues for a user base of around 60 people, help prepare and maintain devices, and work closely with both internal stakeholders and external service providers to keep support running smoothly.

Key duties

• Deliver frontline technical assistance to approximately 60 users.
• Prepare, configure, and maintain IT equipment.
• Record incidents received through phone, email, and in-person requests.
• Support basic maintenance tasks across all clinic locations as needed.
• Move equipment safely and securely between sites while meeting delivery timelines.
• Handle level 1 issues promptly whenever possible.
• Coordinate with an outsourced helpdesk to improve IT service performance across the business.
• Oversee service delivery from third-party hardware and software suppliers.
• Prepare and share IT performance metrics with management on a weekly and monthly basis.

Experience and technical profile

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows products, including installations, upgrades, and common troubleshooting tasks.

You should be comfortable diagnosing issues with PCs, laptops, and printers, and capable of communicating clearly with both technical teams and non-technical colleagues.

Travel and working arrangement

This is a fully on-site position based in Clane, County Kildare, with regular travel required each week between Clane, Mullingar, and Athlone, and occasional visits to Waterford.

A full clean Irish driving licence is essential, and a company van is included.
