About the Role
The IT Executive at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is entrusted with managing the hotel’s entire IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operation and reliability. This position involves overseeing computer networks, software applications, communication platforms, and providing technical assistance to various departments across the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, troubleshoot, and provide support for all IT systems such as Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), accounting applications, and other hotel-related software.
- Supervise and monitor LAN/WAN network operations, Wi-Fi connectivity, and server hardware.
- Implement and manage data backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, and enforce security protocols.
- Deliver day-to-day technical assistance for hardware, software, email, and printer issues to hotel staff.
- Set up and configure new computers, user accounts, and access rights for employees.
- Conduct staff training on hotel IT systems and related policies.
- Liaise with vendors and external service providers for maintenance and upgrades of hardware, software, and network components.
- Schedule and execute regular maintenance and updates ensuring optimal system performance.
- Maintain comprehensive records of IT assets alongside licenses and warranty documentation.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and PCI-DSS standards.
- Continuously monitor for security threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
- Perform system audits to verify compliance and operational efficiency.
- Support hotel telecommunication systems including IP phones, PBX, and VoIP platforms.
- Address guest internet connectivity concerns promptly to guarantee reliable services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Two to four years of professional experience in IT support, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- In-depth understanding of hotel-specific systems such as PMS, POS, back office software, CCTV, and PBX.
- Proficiency in Windows Server environments, Microsoft Office suite, and network management including LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
- Capability to handle pressure situations and provide round-the-clock support as needed.
