Role overview

The IT Business Solutions Senior Specialist leads a development team in building enterprise applications and digital products that support business operations and the organization’s digital transformation agenda. This position is accountable for delivering solutions that are dependable, scalable, secure, and aligned with technical standards, while also improving development practices, system integrations, and ongoing enhancements. In addition, the role provides hands-on technical direction, coaching, and support to developers, and works closely with business stakeholders and project teams to keep solutions aligned with business goals, timelines, and technology expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of enterprise software and digital solutions.
• Coordinate the development team’s workload, track delivery progress, and help ensure commitments are met on time.
• Support backend, frontend, API, and integration work across several applications and initiatives.
• Make sure all development work follows coding standards, architecture rules, security requirements, and established best practices.
• Evaluate code, technical approaches, and deliverables for quality, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Serve as the main technical contact for difficult application, integration, and production-related issues.
• Work with business users, vendors, and project teams to align on requirements, priorities, schedules, and expected outputs.
• Contribute to project planning, estimation, technical design, and feasibility review discussions.
• Help ensure delivery stays within the agreed scope and timeline.
• Oversee internal and external system integrations so data exchange and interoperability remain reliable.
• Encourage the use of modern development tools, technologies, and Azure-based solutions where relevant.
• Manage source control practices, CI/CD workflows, deployments, and release processes effectively.
• Track application behavior and guide troubleshooting, tuning, and refactoring efforts to improve stability and scale.
• Keep technical documentation, system knowledge, and development standards current for the assigned solutions.
• Coach developers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and regular feedback to strengthen team capability and output.
• Remain informed about new technologies and suggest improvements that support the technology roadmap and digital initiatives.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in software development, application support, and system integration.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in leading or mentoring development teams and handling technical delivery work.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methods.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems.
• PMP or PMI-ACP certification is considered an added advantage.
